We recommend “non-O-ring” chains because they are faster and narrower than O-ring chains.
O-rings are designed to keep lube in the links for longer intervals of service. O-rings also cause friction because they are tightly pressed between the otherwise free moving links. O-rings make a chain wider.
If you keep your non-O-ring chain clean and well lubed it will provide you with miles of stretch free smiles.
To clean a non-O-ring chain, it is best to remove it and soak it in a biodegradable citrus degreaser scrubbing vigorously with a stiff brush. If you have access to a solvent tank you can also chuck it in there.
Wear gloves cause chain lube sticks like cat shit in shag carpet!
